Scottish Book Awards

 

Last year the following book s were nominated for the Scottish Book Awards, for the           

Early Years (0-7) we had:

“Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book” written by Julia Donaldson & Alex Scheffler 

“Little Lost Cowboy” written by Simon Puttock & Carolyn Jayne Church

“Sea Mice and the Stars” written by Kenneth Steven & Louise Ho

 

For the Younger Readers we had:

“Deep Water” written by Debi Gliori

“Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince” written by J.K. Rowling

“The Sign of the Black Dagger” written by Joan Lingard

 

And For Older Readers we had:

“The Drowning Pond” written by Catherine Ford

“Green Jasper” written by K.M Grant

“Roxy’s Baby” written by Catherine Mcphail

 

The winners of each category were announced and they were

13-16 “Roxy’s Baby” written by Catherine Mcphail

 

This year the book buddies go surfing have been given 14 long listed books to read and review.  The reviews we write (along with those of other schools) will decide which books are short listed for the awards.  The books we were given were:

“Nemesis-Into the Shadow” written by Catherine Mcphail

“How the Hangman Lost his Heart” written by Katie Grant

“Captives” written by Tom Pow 

“Abigail’s Gift” written by Stephen Potts
