Summary:

Cat’s always been the perfect girl next door. Thoughtful friend. Supportive girlfriend. Supportive girlfriend. Surrogate mother to her three younger siblings, a great help to her dad since her mum died.

But now Cat’s facing some major dilemmas. A game Truth, dare, Kiss or Promise lands her in hot water when she’s asked a truth she can’t reveal. On top of this she doesn’t want to hurt her boyfriend by telling him the truth, but she knows it’s over between them.

Is it right to tell lies to protect people or keep the peace? Can the truth be too hurtful? Cat tries to sort all of this out, and in doing so discovers a lot about herself and others…

What I liked/disliked about the book:

One of my favourite parts in the book was when Cat’s dad was explaining about sex education to her younger brothers and Emma was listening in. So, when Cat and Emma went shopping in the supermarket and they went to buy some eggs, Emma started shouting, saying the boys couldn’t go near the eggs as they would have babies. I thought that part was quite funny and it made me laugh. Throughout the book Emma did a couple more silly things which made me laugh!  I thought the book overall was really good and as I read the book, because I was so into it, I began to forget about my surroundings. I really enjoyed the book and I didn’t want to put it down.

Recommendations:

I would recommend this book to teenagers as it is about teenagers and their problems and some might be able to relate to Cat’s problems and difficulties.
