HOW WE STARTED
The
Book Buddies after school club started in April 2006 and since then
we have been very busy. First
we wrote letters to publishers and bookshops appealing for help with
the project. We applied and were successful in receiving funding
from Aberdeen
City Council Youth Activities Small Grants Scheme and from FONA
(Friends Of Northfield Academy We
got loads of help from Lynne Strachan from Whitespace who
helped us plan our web pages. Lynne was great and helped us draw
animals to put on the home page. We hope you like the finished
result! Northfield
Academy’s Principal Teacher of Art Mr Watt drew caricatures of us
all. They were really funny. Recently we went to Waterstone’s Bookshop to pick new books to read and review for the website. We
are really pleased that our website is now live. For this we have to
say a big thanks to Converged
Communication Solutions Ltd as they provided us with a domain
name and web space.
